Conteúdos instrutivos sobre incapacidade comunicativa em pessoas idosas: uma análise netnográfica no Instagram
Abstract
Introduction: Communicative disability, characterized by reduced speech, hearing, language, oral motor skills, and vision, affects the social participation and independence of older adults. In this regard, it is essential to discuss the dissemination of content in cyberspaces related to this topic, given the importance of functional communication for the autonomy of this population. Objective: To analyze instructional content about communicative disability in older adults published on Instagram. Methodology: This is a qualitative study based on the netnographic technique. The research sample consisted of 24 Instagram posts. Bardin's content analysis technique was used to analyze and interpret the findings, involving pre-analysis; material exploration; and treatment of results, inference, and interpretation. Results: Three analytical categories emerged: Loss of social communication capacity and its impact on older adults' health; Communicative insufficiency in the context of Instrumental and Social Activities of Daily Living; and Intervention strategies to prevent communicative insufficiency in older adults. Conclusion: Effective communication is essential for promoting autonomy, quality of life, and social inclusion in older adults. The study also found that many posts addressed the topic superficially, with a lack of practical information and significant repetition of ideas and content.
