Percepção de uma equipe de atenção primária à saúde sobre a assistência à mulher privada de liberdade
Abstract
The increase in the number of women deprived of their liberty and the decrease in health professionals in prisons means that women are cared for external units. This exploratory descriptive research, qualitative, aimed to identify and analyze the perception of a Primary Health Care team about the care provided to women deprived of liberty in the Primary Health Care (PHC). The research setting was a UBS located in the South District of Ribeirão Preto, São Paulo, Brazil, and a reference for assistance to women deprived of liberty in the municipality. The sample consisted of five health professionals. For data collection, a semi-structured interview. Data analysis was carried out by means of thematic analysis. The research, was approved from the Research Ethics Committee of Barão de Mauá University Center. The data from the interviews were categorized into the following themes: “Equality in the approach during assistance to women deprived of their liberty and the uniqueness of the routine in care at the UBS”; “The difference in the flow of assistance to women deprived of liberty”; “The lack of longitudinality as a complicating factor in assisting women deprived of their liberty at the UBS”. We conclude that the perception of professionals from a PHC team regarding assistance to women deprived of liberty at the UBS involves health care with equality, equity and respect, seeking a humanized approach, recognizing the difficulties due to the lack of longitudinality of the care provided in the unit and for completeness.
