Perfil epidemiológico das vítimas de violência autoprovocada de 2009 a 2019
Abstract
Introduction: The term violence refers to the intentional use of physical force, real or threatened, against oneself or another individual(s), and can be expressed in different ways (psychological, patrimonial, moral, self-harm, etc.), affecting people from different social classes, age groups, ethnic groups, among other characteristics. Objective: To define the health profile, according to age and gender of the victims of self-inflicted violence, based on notifications from the years 2009, 2014 and 2019. Material and Methods: This is a descriptive study, on the health profile of the notified cases of self-inflicted violence, according to age group and gender. Data were obtained from DATASUS (TABNET). Results: The number of notifications of self-inflicted violence cases increased over the years studied: in 2009 the incidence rate was 2.06 cases/100,000 inhabitants; in 2014, it was 15.31 cases/100,000 inhabitants; and, in 2015, it was 65.31 cases/100,000 inhabitants. Conclusion: The results demonstrate a significant increase in the incidence of reported cases of self-inflicted violence, with a predominance of females, especially in the 15-19 age group.
