1. Introduction: With the advancement of technology, we currently observe a high rate of children and adolescents with access to screens. They are often connected to appliances. Faced with this situation, social, intellectual and cognitive problems may arise.
2. Objective: To raise awareness and guide parents and guardians regarding the tolerable total screen time, according to each age group, as well as guidelines to improve the interpersonal interaction of this public.
3. Methodology: A bibliographic review of several documents found in the literature was carried out. Among these documents, the main guiding document was the booklet on the use of meshes by the Brazilian Society of Pediatrics.
4. Results and discussions: We prepared a didactic booklet, especially aimed at parents with low literacy, entitled “Guidance Booklet on the Use of Digital Media by Children”.
