A assistência farmacêutica e o papel das políticas públicas no combate às dificuldades da saúde indígena no Brasil
Abstract
Pharmaceutical assistance for indigenous peoples is essential, aiming to contribute to the improvement of communities in the orientation and availability of medicines that collaborate for a comprehensive health for this population group. From this perspective, this article aims to present the role of pharmaceutical care for indigenous peoples and the importance of public health policies. This theme consists of showing the evolution of the health scenario of indigenous peoples and, at the same time, showing the evolution and emergence of new public policies and pharmaceutical programs. To conduct this research, an integrative literature review was used, of an exploratory nature, to expand knowledge about the proposed theme through other studies. Lilacs and Pubmed were the databases used to extract the works consistent with the acceptance criteria of this study. 10 articles were selected that show the relationship of indigenous peoples with pharmaceutical assistance. Therefore, the lack of accessibility to the communities, the difficulty in understanding the indigenous language, as well as the distancing of public health policies from indigenous communities are factors that are still present in the daily lives of these peoples. In this way, through the selected works, it was verified that there are still barriers for pharmaceutical assistance to be more effective..
