Uma viagem rumo à educação interprofissional
Abstract
With the deconstruction of the fragmented care model, Interprofessional Education becomes a strategy to improve the training of students in the health area and qualification of professionals. Thus, this article aims to present an experience report of the State University of Southwest Bahia (Brazil) alumni, in the Education through Work Program on Health/Interprofessionality (“PET-Saúde/Interprofissionalidade”, in portuguese). This is a descriptive analysis of the extension actions and the experience lived by students, university professors, professionals and users of the Brazilian National Health System (SUS), In the context of Strategy of Family Health, in Jequié-Bahia-Brazil Municipality, from April to December 2019. Among the health problems registered, Diabetes Mellitus and Systemic Arterial Hypertension were the most prevalent diseases. Based on this observation and under the guidance of professors and mentors, the students developed educational approaches and therapeutic actions aimed at users. The activities included skills, abilities and attitudes needed for future professional practice. The applied strategies permitted to reflect about academical formation, interpersonal and interprofessional relationships, community involvement and social participation as positive tools for the training of health professionals and their impact in the quality of service.
