Art as production of care in the field of psychosocial attention: an integrative review of national literature
Abstract
The psychosocial paradigm arising from the psychiatric reform defends the multiplicity of actions in the offer of care, in order to contemplate the diversities of the subjects. Art is one of the resources that add to the psychosocial interventions offered in the field of mental health. The objective of this research is to produce an integrative review of the national scientific production on the use of art in the production of mental health care, from the perspective of psychosocial care. The survey of the studied corpus was carried out in the Virtual Health Library (BVS), from the combination of the descriptors Art, Culture and Mental Health which, after applying the inclusion and exclusion criteria, resulted in a final sample of five texts. The analysis of these texts showed that art and culture activities, as therapeutic resources and enablers of the ascension of the subject of desire, can generate income, promoting the ascension of the subject of law, favoring socialization, increasing self-esteem, decreasing the use of medicines, the enjoyment of freedom and dignity and the exercise of citizenship. On the other hand, it was possible to discuss the absence and limits found in the experiences of art and culture, highlighting the need to overcome the notion of entertainment, to effectively compose public policies of psychosocial care as an intervention of health care and promotion.
