Interactive tools in the poultry teaching to students of Veterinary Medicine

Abstract

Currently, Brazil occupies the principal position as an exporting country and third position as a producer, in the world ranking of chicken meat. In the laying segment, it also shows relevance, producing approximately 53 billion eggs in 2020. Therefore, the poultry products segment is an important network of opportunities for Veterinary professional. Thus, the aim of this study was to show some interactive tools, such as the H5P® plugins: Find the words, Advental calendar, Flashcard, Quiz (question set), Column - drag text, Fill in the blanks and Memory game, in Moodle platform at Centro Universitário “Barão de Mauá”, besides an anatomical model chicken (4D Vision - 4D Master®) to study the struture of the birds. The anatomical model permits the removal and insertion of pieces for the memorizing of the anatomical structures. The activities showed in this study began to be developed in 2019 and are being inserted in the Animal Production and Ornitopathology disciplines of ​​the Veterinary Medicine course at the Centro Universitário “Barão de Mauá”. Since then it has been possible to notice great enthusiasm, commitment and motivation in performing the proposed activities, however, future studies are suggested for a more detailed evaluation of these results. In conclusion, it was verified that the H5P® plugins and the anatomic model suggested in the study allow the insertion of subjects present in the programmatic content in a simple way, providing feedback to the students, inteplaying activities and diversifying methodologies to facilitate, motivate, encourage creativity and improve concentration and, consequently, the learning process.
