Physical therapy rehabilitation in the postoperative period of women mastectomized with breast cancer
Abstract
Breast cancer is one of the diseases that most causes fear as women, not only for its physiological effects, but also for the psychological and social ones. One of the treatment interventions is total or partial mastectomy. However, in addition to the biochemical disorders that treatment by chemotherapy or radiation brings, surgery also has repercussions that can affect the quality of life and functionality of these patients. Seeking to talk about this plot, the objective of this study is to identify and expose, through the review, the findings of the literature on physical therapy rehabilitation in the postoperative period of mastectomized women with breast cancer. In final considerations, it was possible to verify that there are several techniques that can improve the quality of life and well being of these aspects by minimizing the existing symptoms, leaving the physiotherapist to carry out a careful assessment to substantiate the most specific and efficient ones.
