Do curso livre ao curso superior: a ciência na formação em estética e cosmética
Abstract
This essay examines the trajectory of the higher education course in Aesthetics and Cosmetology in Brazil, exploring its formation, regulatory aspects, and curriculum. The documentary analysis reveals that science has become a central element in the training of professionals, with the inclusion of basic and applied sciences. However, the lack of a specific Federal Council for the professional category results in challenges for standardizing professional practice and sanitary oversight. As a result, the incorporation of science in training still occurs in an uneven manner and depends on incomplete institutional structures. The study highlights the need for advances in regulation and oversight to ensure more uniform and quality training. Ultimately, the essay emphasizes the importance of a more integrated and regulated approach to the development of the Aesthetics and Cosmetology profession in Brazil.
