We report an educational intervention in One Health, aimed at appropriating technical-scientific knowledge, mobilizing and transforming the reality of people in a community in the municipality of São Bernardo do Campo (São Paulo, Brazil). In this sense, an observation was initially conducted in that location of situations involving unhealthy housing, lack of basic sanitation and domestic waste collection, water quality and supply, animal abandonment, synanthropic animals, dogs and cats with parasites. Considering this scenario, through an action research approach, 6 educational cycles were planned and carried out, involving different pedagogical strategies, valuing active participation and dialogue between participants. The evaluation was carried out by content analysis based on semi-structured interviews, elaboration of a discourse of the collective subject, as well as the interactions throughout the educational activities. The overall analysis of this activity demonstrated the appropriation of participants' knowledge, capturing perceptions, values and symbolizations, being a useful strategy for use in education in non-formal environments for health education, while it allows the researcher to see the practical effects of its research and continually reflect on the development and improvement of proposed actions. Therefore, we hope that working professionals can make use of the experience and methodology presented here, adapting them according to their realities, allowing a transdisciplinary approach to research within the community, respecting their collective desires, particularities and local culture.

Aim: to analyze the perception of health workers about inter and multiprofessional knowledge and practices in Primary Health Care. Methodology: qualitative, exploratory and field research, based on a historical-structural-dialectical materialism approach, carried out in a small municipality in the Central East health region of Bahia. Eighteen health workers working in the PHC of the municipality participated in the research and were invited in person; this number was defined through the data saturation technique. Data were collected in person through recorded semi-structured interviews. Thematic analysis was used to interpret the data. The work was approved by the Ethics and Research Committee with Human Beings of the State University of Bahia. Results: They formed two empirical categories: concepts about inter and multiprofessionality; and Interprofessional practices: the professionals' perspective. The research revealed that there is little knowledge regarding the concepts studied, despite valuing teamwork and carrying out actions in this perspective.. Therefore, it is common to have daily actions based on multiprofessionality and some that advance towards interprofessionality, which should be based on strengthening team communication, the commitment to permanent education as a transformative action and collaborative practice as an essential tool.. Final considerations: It is important to expand the concepts in the training processes, so that practices of an interprofessional nature are recognized for their ability to qualify care, make it resolute and capable of meeting the needs of users.

Multiple Sclerosis (MS) is a progressive and chronic neurological disease characterized by demyelination of the central nervous system, resulting in various clinical manifestations such as fatigue, motor and cognitive difficulties. It mainly affects young adults and is one of the main causes of non-traumatic neurological disability in this age group. Appropriate treatment prevents serious sequelae that compromise quality of life. Objective: To provide an overview of the disease, based on up-to-date regional figures, in order to raise awareness of the importance of early treatment of the disease. Method: A descriptive, quantitative and cross-sectional study was carried out in 13 health units in the municipality, approved by the Research Ethics Committee (CAAE:72737523.6.00005559). Results: In the municipality of Itajubá, Minas Gerais, it was possible to collect information on 17 patients undergoing treatment, of whom the majority (70.6%) were female, with a mean age of 41.65 years. The average age at diagnosis was 35.77 years and the average time since diagnosis was 7.69 years. None of the patients had a family history of MS. These findings suggest that MS is more prevalent in women and usually manifests in young adults, without a strong genetic predisposition observed in the population studied. Conclusion: The study reinforces the importance of investigating the disease in specific local contexts, highlighting the prevalence of the disease among young women and the absence of family history in the cases analyzed. The data suggest the possible influence of environmental factors on the etiology, highlighting the need for early interventions and management strategies that take into account the socioeconomic and regional particularities of the patients. The study contributes to understanding MS in the region and can serve as a basis for future investigations with larger samples and longitudinal analyses.

Popular Education in Health consolidates itself as an essential tool within the Unified Health System (SUS), emphasizing dialogue and the exchange of knowledge between users and professionals. This study aimed to reflect on the psychosocial care network (RAPS) based on the perceptions of primary care professionals. The methodology was exploratory and explanatory in nature, with a qualitative approach. Data collection was conducted through questionnaires applied over three weekly meetings in the format of a discussion circle. Data analysis followed the content analysis method, and the research was approved by the Research Ethics Committee of the University of Sorocaba. It was identified that the perception of mental health care at the Basic Health Unit (UBS) is primarily focused on the activities of the multidisciplinary team and psychiatric consultations. Additionally, participants demonstrated a lack of knowledge about RAPS services and their operation in the municipality. Finally, a booklet provided to professionals was considered a valuable resource for clarifying doubts and complementing the discussions held.

Abstract: Introduction: Substance use is a public health issue, particularly in universities. The medical course is known for its intense workload and high cognitive demand. In addition to these factors, the predominance of young students, intercollegiate competitions, social events, and high stress levels contribute to an environment that favors the use of various substances. Objectives: To assess substance use among medical students at Centro Universitário Barão de Mauá (CBM), correlating it with general knowledge on the subject and subjective evaluations of students' physical and mental performance. Methods: This is a cross-sectional observational study. A total of 75 CBM medical students responded to an electronic questionnaire in 2022 regarding their consumption of legal, prescribed, and non-prescribed psychoactive substances, as well as supplements and anabolic steroids. Results: Students reported a high intake of energy drinks (89.3%), particularly during exams and competitions. The use of psychostimulants was reported by 24% of students, most of whom used them without a medical prescription. Additionally, a statistically significant relationship was found between consumption rates and the academic period. Regarding supplements, 57.3% of students reported usage, while anabolic steroid use was lower (12%), with both being associated with the pursuit of enhanced athletic performance and aesthetics. Conclusion: The use of substances for cognitive and attentional enhancement is prevalent among students, especially during exams and competitions. The use of supplements and anabolic steroids is more common in the context of physical exercise, sports competitions, and aesthetic purposes.

Introduction and objectives: Cannabis sativa is recognized in the United State Pharmacopeia. The medicinal demand for compounds from this plant has increased by 700% since 2015, according to Anvisa. In veterinary medicine, there has been an increase in the therapeutic use of Cannabis sativa, in the treatment of various conditions, being used mainly for the treatment of epilepsy, chronic pain, behavioral disorders. The present review aims to describe studies and uses of the cannabidiol component in the treatment of diseases in dogs. Result: Cannabis sativa has substances that have therapeutic properties, including more than 100 organic cannabinoid compounds. Among the cannabinoid compounds, the best known are THC and cannabidiol. Cannabidiol (CBD) is a therapeutic compound from Cannabis sativa, used in the treatment of pain relief, reducing inflammation, combating anxiety, improving sleep and helping with seizures without causing psychoactive effects. The endocannabinoid system (ECS), discovered in the 90s, is influenced by CBD due to endogenous receptors present in the cell membranes of various tissues, such as the brain, connective tissue, glands and immune system. Conclusion: The use of CBD in veterinary medicine is still little discussed due to the small number of studies on animals and consequently the complete understanding of the entire mechanism of action.

Parenteral nutrition is an essential therapy for patients who cannot ingest or absorb nutrients through conventional routes, and is administered directly into the bloodstream. Simultaneous administration of medications with parenteral nutrition requires rigorous care, since incompatibility between the components can compromise the efficacy of the treatment and patient safety. This study aimed to identify, in the scientific literature, evidence on the compatibility between injectable medications and parenteral nutrition, in addition to listing the main risks associated with this practice. For this purpose, an integrative review was carried out in the MEDLINE, SciELO and Google Scholar databases. The selection of articles considered studies published in the last 10 years that addressed the interaction between medications and parenteral nutrition. Six articles were selected, highlighting that medications such as ampicillin, fosphenytoin and furosemide demonstrated incompatibility with parenteral nutrition, while others, such as dopamine and morphine, showed compatibility. The analysis revealed that physical and chemical interactions can affect the stability of the solutions, with risks of precipitation or degradation. It is concluded that the simultaneous administration of drugs with PN must be carefully monitored, based on scientific evidence and clinical guidelines, to ensure the safety and efficacy of the treatment.

Human Metapneumovirus (HMPV) is a pathogen involved in respiratory tract infections, affecting individuals of all ages. However, few studies in literature have specifically addressed this infectious agent. The aim of this study is to describe the clinical complications associated with HMPV infection. This is a narrative literature review, in which the PubMed, Lilacs, and SciELO databases were consulted using the descriptors Metapneumovirus AND respiratory failure. Twelve articles published in the last five years were selected for analysis. The results indicate that HMPV has emerged as a clinically relevant respiratory pathogen, predominantly affecting vulnerable populations, such as children, the elderly, and immunocompromised individuals. Although HMPV infection can lead to severe conditions, including acute respiratory failure, its prevalence as the primary cause of this condition is low, particularly in adults, where other respiratory viruses are more prominent. The symptoms of HMPV infection resemble those of other viral respiratory infections, which complicates diagnosis, which is obtained using RT-PCR techniques. In children, although HMPV is prevalent, its severity in lower respiratory tract infections is less than that of respiratory syncytial virus. The identification of comorbidities and risk factors is essential for risk stratification and appropriate clinical management. Research on HMPV has gaps, particularly concerning its pathogenesis and the development of specific therapies. Therefore, future studies are needed to deepen the understanding of this virus, aiming to improve the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of respiratory infections associated with HMPV.

A chronic condition is a common problem among the elderly, compromising their quality of life and functionality. This study aims to determine the prevalence of chronic pain in patients treated in a physical therapy clinic outside of São Paulo and evaluate its impact on daily activities. This is a transversal, descriptive and quantitative research, with data collected between 2019 and 2021, involving 49 children with an average age of 72.5 years. Structured questionnaires were applied, including the Katz Index and the Lawton Scale, to assess functionality and impact. A statistical analysis is based on frequency distributions and descriptive measures. The results indicate that 63.3% of the participants were women. The story was most frequently reported by Joel (28.6%), followed by the Lombard colony (21.4%). Most of the participants described it as intense (51.0%) and specific week hours for demonstration (62.7%). The combined treatment of medication and physiotherapy was used by 75.5% of the participants, with simple analgesics being the most used drugs. Despite the presence of the sun, 91.8% of children remain independent of daily activities. It is concluded that this chronic disease has a high prevalence and significantly impacts children, making it essential to adopt integrated therapeutic approaches. An adequate management, which considers both the physical and emotional aspects, can contribute to the better quality of life of the population. Additional studies are necessary to improve treatment and intervention strategies.

Abstract: The aim of this paper is to report on the experience of using mind maps to learn Pharmacology, guided by the premises of the theory of cognitive mediation in Networks. The theory argues that individuals complement their information processes by interacting with externally organized physical systems, creating cognitive drives. This is a descriptive study, of the experience report type, carried out in a vocational technical school in the South of Brazil, in the second semester of 2024, involving 57 students from the Nursing course. The methodological stages were divided into four meetings. The experience could point to positive data on the use of mind maps, which were confirmed by the TMCR, developing cognitive mechanisms or cognitive drives in the learning process. The students were emphatic that the use of mind maps can foster the construction of basic pharmacology concepts, allowing a better subject assimilation. The research shows that the methodology enabled meaningful learning and the use of mind maps proved to be a powerful teaching tool, in the direction advocated by the network theory of cognitive mediation.

Neonatal jaundice or neonatal hyperbilirubinemia is a term used to characterize the yellowish coloration of the skin and conjunctivae (white surface of the eye) of newborns, which is caused by an increase in bilirubin in the bloodstream. Bilirubin is a substance produced when red blood cells are broken down. After bilirubin is metabolized by the liver, it is eliminated in the faeces. When this process doesn't take place, there is an increase in bilirubin levels, thus causing the yellowish color. In neonates, jaundice is most often of a physiological nature, as a result of their liver immaturity, and another common cause is blood incompatibility between the mother and the newborn. In most cases, no treatment is necessary, but if the jaundice is more pronounced, it is important to carry out phototherapy, which consists of using light, usually blue or green, to break down bilirubin, and to carry out exchange transfusion, the process of transfusing the newborn's blood. However, if bilirubin levels become very high, there is a risk of neurological dysfunctions developing, including Kernicterus, an encephalopathy caused by bilirubin toxicity in the central nervous system. This study has shown the importance of knowing about the pathology and the relevance of its diagnosis, since if it is not diagnosed early it can cause serious consequences. In light of this, an exploratory bibliographic review of a qualitative nature was the method used in this research. The laboratory plays a fundamental role in diagnosis, with bilirubin being measured using different methods, including the diazo method laboratory reaction and high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), hemoglobin and hematocrit measurement, blood typing, newborn screening test (heel prick test), and glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase enzyme measurement.

Opioids are substances that act on specific receptors present in our central nervous system. They are used to treat acute and chronic pain in individuals in post-operative situations, burns, multiple traumas or drug addicts undergoing treatment. However, their properties can induce addiction, leading to dependence and tolerance to the drug. Opioid addiction has emerged as a growing global health problem. The high rates of overdose due to this addiction have become a major challenge, requiring the development of effective therapeutic approaches to contain the damage caused to the population. Current treatment methods used to contain addiction consist of psychotherapy and drug therapies. The latter, in turn, have limitations such as adverse effects and risks of relapse, generating the need for safe and effective long-term treatment, such as vaccine therapies. This narrative literature review seeks to clarify the challenges involved in the characterization and therapeutic potential of vaccines against opioids, a promising approach in the face of the global addiction crisis and increasing overdose deaths. Analyses were conducted based on detailed bibliographic reviews on the subject in databases such as SciELO (Scientific Electronic Library Online), PubMed (National Library of Medicine), BJIHS (Brazilian Journal of Implantology and Health Sciences) and Medline (Medical Literature Analysis and Retrieval System Online), with the inclusion criteria being publications dated from 2011 to 2024. After the reviews, it was found that specific antibodies to opioids were produced through clinical trials performed on animals. Despite the promising results, the research points to the need for further clinical studies to validate safety and efficacy in humans. Anti-opioid vaccines have great potential as a new therapeutic strategy to mitigate the current crisis of opioid addiction and overdose.

Oncohematological diseases such as leukemia, Hodgkin's lymphoma, non-Hodgkin's
lymphoma and multiple myeloma are part of a heterogeneous group of malignant
diseases that affect the bone marrow in different ways, altering its functioning and
production of hematopoietic cells and lymphoid organs, resulting in an abnormal
proliferation of unhealthy blood cells. Immunotherapy with CAR-T cells is the most
widely used treatment for patients with these blood malignancies, but because it has
a considerable number of complications for the patient, because it is difficult to obtain
the cells and because of the low cost to health systems, research has begun into
other known cell lines, such as natural killer (NK) cells. Through this bibliographic
review, integrating national and international scientific articles, theses, dissertations
and bibliographic reviews through the Google Scholar, PubMed and Scielo platforms,
we aim to clarify the main differences between the treatment of onco-hematological
diseases with CAR-T and CAR-NK cells, exposing their advantages, disadvantages
and effectiveness in the treatment of patients. Treatment with CAR-NK cells is being
widely studied because it is readily available and can provide immediate treatment,
as well as showing considerably fewer adverse reactions to the patient's body, unlike
the main disadvantage discussed in immunotherapy studies using CAR-T cells.

The organs donation is essential to save and increase the quality of life of thousands of people who wait for a transplant. Brazil is a country that stands out worldly for organs transplant, seeing as its total service is guaranteed by the SUS, Sistema Único de Saúde (in english: Unified Health System). However, this type of treatment have been facing a lot of issued since due to the extension of the contry, the organs' ischemia time, the lack of structure and qualified professionals that, added to the pandemic, generates a low effective rate. Besides, the number of transplants done in the country is still smaller than demand, generating long wainting lost for this therapy. In that sense, this systematic libraraphic review, from the data from the Brazilian Registry of Transplant Registry, referring to the years of 2019 to 2023, seek to improve the knowledge about the national organ transplant and investigate the impact of the COVID-19 Pandemic in the organ donation by Brazil’s regions. From that, it was observed that the North and Northeast regions of the country, which is not by chance the poorest geographic areas and in need of resources and investment, it was the most affected and, including, it stands out that time period analyzed, there was no heart and lung donations in the North region. In contrast , the South and Southeast regions have been standing out due to their socioeconomic and structural advantages. Furthermore, it is concluded that, with the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, there was a negative impact on the number of donors and the availability of organs for transplantation. This impact is particularly evident in cornea transplants, which experience the most significant reduction (52.3%) in 2020. After the critical phase of the pandemic subsided, it became possible to analyze that donation rates in Brazil are gradually recovering.

This final course work explores endometriosis, a condition characterized by the anomalous location of endometrial tissue outside the uterine cavity. This pathology, whose incidence has increased in recent decades, can severely affect female fertility. From a comprehensive review of the literature, it was possible to identify that endometriosis causes chemotactic and anatomical changes in the female reproductive system, which can result in difficulties in becoming pregnant. In addition, the severity of the disease is directly related to the intensity of the lesions and the location of the ectopic endometrial tissue, affecting functions such as ovulation and embryo implantation. This work addresses the importance of managing women's reproductive health in relation to endometriosis, highlighting that therapeutic options, including hormonal and surgical treatments, are essential to alleviate symptoms, improve quality of life and increase the chances of conception. Human reproduction techniques, such as in vitro fertilization, play a crucial role for those who face difficulties in getting pregnant due to the disease. The research, carried out through a bibliographic review using quantitative and qualitative exploratory methods, seeks to clarify doubts about endometriosis and expand knowledge about it. The aim is to reduce the time for diagnosis and to start treatment earlier, minimizing the problems faced by affected women.
